Character: Liara T'Soni

Wrex: You ready?

Liara: Absolutely.

Wrex: No worrying? No emotional concerns? You’ve grown up, T’soni.

Liara: Well, I recently discovered that I’m one-quarter krogan.

Wrex: Ha! I knew there was a reason I liked you.

Shepard: Careful. There goes the next Shadow Broker.

Garrus: Could’ve sworn he was muttering ”T’Soni” the whole time.

Liara: Not funny.

Shadow Broker: It’s pointless to challenge me, asari. I know your every secret, while you fumble in the dark.

Liara: Is that right? You’re a yahg, a pre-spaceflight species that was quarantined to their homeworld for massacring the Council’s first contact teams. This base is older than your planet’s discovery, so I’m guessing you killed the original Shadow Broker 60 years ago, then took his place. I’m guessing that you were taken from your homeworld by a trophy hunter who wanted a slave or a pet. How am I doing?

Shepard: The bartender over there?

Liara: The matriarch hired by the asari gouvernment to track my movements?

Shepard: She’s your father.

Javik: This has been… amusing.

Shepard: Oh?

Javik: To discover the most primitive races of my time now rule the galaxy. The asari, the humans, the turians…

Liara: There’s also the salarians.

Javik: The lizard people evolved?

Liara: I believe they are amphibian.

Javik: They used to eat flies.

Liara: Joker, really? I have work to do.

Joker: Aw, come on it’s just one simple question.

Liara: Then look it up on the extranet.

Joker: You can’t believe everything you find there, it’s more reliable to ask a friendly asari.

Liara: I’m not telling you if my “hair tentacles” move!

Joker: Fine. Deny me the answer I’ve been seeking for years. With this war on, we could die at any second, you know.

Shepard: You know he’s going to keep bothering you till you tell him.

Liara: [sigh] They’re semi flexible cartilage-based scalp crests that grow into shape. And they don’t “flop around”.

Joker: Yes! Thanks Liara, I gotta tell Vega I was right.

Liara: Well, at least he’s making friends.

Liara: You’re giving me asari commandos?

Matriarch Aethyta: Well you’re too old for a damn pony.

Liara: You’re the best father a girl could have.

Liara: …but there was one thing I was unable to verify. Did you really kill three Blue Suns mercs with one bullet?

Garrus: Well, the third one died from a heart attack, so it’s not fair to count him.

Shepard: Calm down Liara, I was only joking.

Liara: Joking? By the goddess, how could I be so dense! You must think I am a complete and utter fool.

Liara: Garrus, perhaps it is my own trouble with Benezia that makes me ask, but do you feel comfortable facing a respected turian Spectre like Saren?

Garrus: Saren is either a traitor or a madman. Taking him down will restore the good name of turians everywhere.

Liara: With your respect for the Spectres, I thought you might hesitate. I am glad I was wrong.

Liara: It would be wise to avoid touching any controls without reading the instructions.

Kaidan: It’s always a good idea to RTFM, ma’am.

Liara: …to what?

Shepard: Sometimes it feels like the whole damn galaxy is trying to kill me.

Liara: It should have picked an easier fight.

Liara: [Joker] seemed happy to see me. Although he did ask if I’d “embraced eternity” lately.

Shepard: Of course he did.

Garrus: Sometimes I envy your biotic abilities, Doctor. But then, all your people have such skill.

Liara: While the asari have natural biotic abilities, not all have the desire nor the skill to use their abilities effectively.

Garrus: Of course. I intended no disrespect to the effort you have put into your training. Pardon me.

Kaidan: Hearing about the Protheans makes me wonder if some distant civilization is going to find our artifacts someday and study us.

Liara: I have often wondered the same thing, Lieutenant. Artifacts of vanished cultures are reminders of our own mortality.

Kaidan: I’m not afraid to die. I guess I just want to be remembered by more than a few trinkets in a ruin somewhere.
